Barry Bonds - Unbelievable

April 29th, 2007

A lot of people even some giants fans were wondering if it was a good idea to bring Barry back. I believed that this year would be better then last year. The first few months of last year his legs weren’t up to par and his hitting was off balance as a result.

In the first 22 games he has played he has over 350 batting average and 8 home runs(tying with others for lead in the national league). What is so amazing is the guy is going to be turning 43 in july! No one that was 40 years or older in the entire season has hit more then 29 home runs(done by ted williams). I believe Barry is back to his old self.

Since he is older the long season will make it harder for him to keep a good pace, but I believe if he stays healthy we could see over 35 home runs, see him hit 770 at least. When he breaks hank aarons record he will also be breaking carlton fisks record for most home runs after the age of 40. While guys like Pujols and A-rod rely on youth and raw talent, Barry is able to adjust in his older age and keep on hitting home runs through experience and knowlege. He is a very smart hitter and if you have been watching him all these years like I have you would see that.
