Durham Traded to Brewers

July 21st, 2008

Well rumours had been flying that Durham would be traded to the Brewers and it came true. You can read more detail here

If a player is on a team for more than 5 years or in the MLB for 10 years than he has to agree to the trade. Durham agreed to it for a $200,000 assignment fee. I personally am sad to see Durham go, he is a really likeable guy and besides Aurillia is the longest playing Giant on the team. But he agreed to the deal, so at least he was ok with it. It’s a major sign the Giants are in a rebuilding phase and that this season is officially over. Im surprised anyone showed up this year after what they did to Barry anyways.

They certainly have to rebuild, they have no other options and as far as Barry goes, he should have called it quits after the record, he could no longer handle left field and was only a draw, but if your interested in their future, then you must understand they had to let him go

Maybe trade Lincecum for someone’s entire farm system? :)
