The man who brought us some of the most entertaining 9th inning games for one reason or another, Armando Benitez has now gone to the marlins in a trade for right handed reliever for Randy Messenger.

While I’ll miss the exciting games he created at the end of the game, I certainly don’t miss the many games he blew. It seems too late though. It would have been smart to get rid of benitez last year. He actually overall wasn’t doing too bad this year. He only had one two blown saves and one of them was unfair of how it went down at Shea Stadium

I guess no one wanted him last year considering his record and after coming back from a long injury the previous year before that. The Giants were probably waiting till his record got better before they could have a chance to get him off their hands for someone better.
