Well the Giants have had one of the worst starts to a season and certainly the worst I have seen myself. Despite record wise they have lost a lot, there are some positives.

For one thing almost none of them were big blowout games. Most were within just a few runs. Secondly the pitching has been pretty good. The hitting has been on the cold side and really has been the reason for most of the losses.

It’s better to have the hitting at fault then the pitching. Reason being pitchers tend to be more stable through a season whereas hitters often go in streaks. Also, pitching overall is more important to a baseball team then offense. I’d be more worried right now if the hitting was doing great, but the pitching was doing terrible.

Well there is one exception, armando benitez is doing his usual routine where he almost blows the lead. I found it ironic how the 2 wins have gone to morris instead of Barry zito since Morris seemed to blow a lot of games last year. I know he was a solid pitcher for the cardinals though so maybe he is finally getting used to san francisco and now it’s barry zito’s turn.
