Opening Day Tomorrow!

April 2nd, 2007

I’m excited about opening day tomorrow. I bought tickets for 3 games this year. It was a struggle to get tickets this year even on the first day. I read they sold out more then twice as much in the first week then they did 2 years ago. I believe this is because Barry Bonds is expected to break the home run record and supposed to be his last year as a Giant.

First let me say I believe Barry Bonds will break the record. He has more home runs this spring training then anyone else. I just saw his last game and he hit 2 home runs in the same game! His spring training is looking better this year then it did last. Rumour has it that this is not going to be Bonds last year. In fact even Barry himself publicly hinted at it.

I don’t believe this is Barry’s last year. I think he is healthy enough, plus he wants to secure that record with Alex Rodriguez getting to 400 faster then anyone and Albert Pujols young and hitting home runs early in his career, plus Howard who is like another Griffey. I believe Howard is the most talented of this group. He is so young though we don’t know if he will fizzle like Griffey. A-Rod probably won’t hit 755 in his career however there is that small possibility. Barry knows he needs to tack on a little bit more knowing that A-Rod doesn’t stand a chance of going much past 755.

Giants have done not so good in the spring training, which is not a good sign. I’m glad the Giants got Barry Zito. Funny how 15 years later they sign one of the biggest contracts ever with another guy named Barry. I personally didn’t think Mike Schmidt was the true Ace in the last couple years for the Giants so Im glad to have Barry Zito now instead. I also am happy to have Aurillia back. I wish they would trade Benitez though. It’s almost like a joke now that when he comes out they will lose the game!

Lets hope for a healthy Bonds, and a good solid season for the Giants this year!
